First things first.

About this Blog.

It is the oldest profession in our society and yet it still remains as one of the greatest taboo subjects to date. Welcome to the world of the Great British sex industry, call us what you will; hookers, whores, prostitutes, call-girls, escorts, the list goes on. Chances are, you've met one- you know one- or maybe you've even been one yourself, we are many.

This is my story in my own words, and if you’re willing to listen to 'the ramblings of a hooker' stick around for some funny and at times gruesome tales. If you're curiosity gets the better of you, feel free to ask me any questions, anything at all, I don't bite (I charge extra for that).

I invite you to challenge me, I often criticise my own stand point and morals regarding this subject, and I welcome both celebration and criticism of my views reflected in any of my posts. As with any client, I expect you to engage in order to make the experience it's fullest, but engage with respect.

In a line of work which is often only viewed in a harrowing documentary or in an overdramitised soap storyline, in this blog I aim to breakdown some of the biggest misunderstandings of sex-work and in this first article I'll start with some of the industries jargon you might come across later in the blog.

Industry Jargon and Terminology.

Job Titles.

As it is- after all- an industry of employment, everyone has their respective job title and description, learning the differences between these will seriously aid your understanding of how everything works and the hierarchal structure of the industry.

The Girl's (From lowest earners to highest)

Survival Sex-workers (SSW)- These women have an assumed obligation to sell sex for one or more reasons; often these women will live within a Brothel (at times with their children) meaning they must work in order to pay rent for the accommodation usually provided by their manager/pimp. From my experience the women who work in this area of the industry usually struggle with drug/alcohol addiction or have been trafficked to the U.K for this sole purpose. Survival sex workers usually charge per service provided i.e. £10 for O.W.O. They work from either a brothel or at times a client/punter's car, making this area of sex work ILLEGAL in Great Britain.

Prostitutes/Hookers- These women, similarly to SSW'S, operate within managed brothels or again from clients cars. However, these women, have no obligation to stay in the brothel after their working day has finished. Again charging per sex-act with a pre-established breakdown of specifically what individual acts that client wants you to do, making this area also ILLEGAL.

Escorts- There's a certain grey area around what an escort actually does if you've never delved into this world before, it seems to be popular opinion that booking an escort is solely for the purpose of providing company i.e. being a date to a dinner or event and that at no time is she obliged to provide sexual service. Well- although that's what the agency will have you believe- it is absolutely not true. Purely the fact that at no time anyone openly discusses that there will be an exchange of money for sex, makes this area of the industry technically LEGAL. Escorts are expected to not only have sex with a client but they are also expected to do exactly what the client wants regardless of how much it turns their stomachs- lest they suffer the wrath of UK Punting, or UK 'Cunting' as I prefer to call it (we'll get into that later). Escorts can operate independently with their own set of clientele or can be managed by an agency. They charge by hour or half hour and they can outline what they will or will not do during that time to the client- but of course the less you do the less you make.

Call Girls- These are the women who you often see appearing in newspapers, pictured holding a pair of Wayne Rooney's boxers with a headline boasting of the thousands she made from the nights events. Whereas escorts have a set price per hour, a call-girl names her price, pretty much, based on how she thinks he'd be willing to pay, making this line of the industry a real money-maker. Plus you get to meet your favourite premier league stars in the process. If you are a Call-girl working on behalf of an agency you must pay a set commission per meeting based on the number of hours however your upper limit of profit is totally down to you. Most Call-girls though are independent and operate from a city-centre apartment or visit clientele in their own homes- when the wife and kids are out of course! Most offer to sign a confidential agreement meaning there naughtiness can never be exposed- silly Wayne- this comes as an extra service though.

The owners/agency workers (Earning lowest to highest)

Drivers- Usually the voice of reason within the company, if we had a problem they would sort it out, if a manager was being out of line we could expect the driver to stand up for us, it is their job to look after the girls on the way to and from their bookings outside the apartments and for the most part from my experiences they do it very well. They are fatherly types and usually the only thing that stops you hurling yourself from the moving car on your way to the final out-call of the day. The reason they are so ready to be on our side is the agency very rarely pays the driver a lot, based on how much work they physically need to do day and night, not to mention the fact they're risking getting caught by police 'trafficking' obvious escorts.

Maintenance Workers- Managers need the apartment to be in use 24/7, and can't trust contracted workers to not spill the beans on their seedy operations, so they -where possible- use their maintenance worker to deal with everything from broken beds to stained rugs (stained with fake tan more often than bodily fluids)

Phone Girls- These women answer the phones and confirm that a booking is taking place with a client. It is their job to communicate with the girl as to when bookings are, addresses if you're on an outcall and to check that the client has come in and paid and when the booking is due to finish checks that the client is out of the apartment. They often serve as useful in telling us extra info about the clients and what they might like in particular or if they're known to be difficult or aggressive. In my experience they're usually close friends of the managers prior to starting at the agency and thus from a girl's perspective cannot be totally trusted. I've had a lot of incidents happen due to the phone girl's sending people into the apartment building at the wrong time leaving the client already in the flat having to do a walk-of-shame past the next punter lined up.

Managers/Owners- These are the people that own the agency and receive commission from the escorts at the end of a shift. From most agencies it would be 30% of each booking with a handy spreadsheet showing us how much we made from each gig glued to the inside of the kitchen cabinet, often accompanying passive aggressive notes from other escorts claiming their eyeliner had gone missing or someone had stolen their strap-on. The Managers/Owners, not always one and the same, rent the properties used by the girls, they interview the girls prior to them being employed by the agency. The only thing there in terms of an employment contract is a spoken agreement after the interview is over- if the Owner is a woman- you're lucky, the interview can be more like an audition with most male owners.

Services Offered and 'Hooker Speak'.

'Hooker speak' is the informal and at times secretive way we refer to different services a client may want us to perform during a booking. Some of these should really make it into the Oxford dictionary. The phone girls often use acronyms or codes to send to the escorts as to not prove any sexual acts are taking place if it were ever investigated.

OWO- Stands for 'Oral Without' meaning performing oral sex without the use of a condom.

CIM- Stands for 'Cum in Mouth'- self explanatory really

GFE- Girlfriend Experience- Often misunderstood to be where there is only kissing and cuddling and no sex involved- how wrong you are. GFE means a girl must great a client- usually a perfect stranger- at the door and treat him as if she's been waiting all day for his glorious return, he treats you and the apartment like they're his. Kissing and cuddling is included but as always they absolutely expect sex. Utter bollocks to perform as an escort, one of the many times your acting abilities are put into play and the believability of your role won't earn you and Oscar but will surely earn you more clients.

SG- Stands for School Girl and is one of the many personalities and outfits an escort must bring to work with her. This is often a role play situation where the client wants to imagine a school girl -only aged 16+ of course- to be seeing to his every sexually depraved need. Reader be warned- if a phone girl has communicated this preference from a client it can usually be followed with UA.

UA- Under Age- I did warn some parts are gruesome. Once in a while a client would turn up to the apartment and they would somehow gather the nerve to request us (the escorts) to act as if we were under the age of consent, with some even specifying ages and even more shockingly names we were instructed to call ourselves. Needless to say there definitley are things I would never do no matter how much I would be paid, the clients who camewith these preferences would often face the fury of a driver under a girls instruction. There were some girls however who not only entertained these bookings but in fact specialised in it. Why don't the agencies ban these people-you ask? Because they honestly do not care one bit as long as he's paid.

The Banana Club- I worked for an agency where the phone girl was a 50 something geordie grandma who would helpfully inform us if girls had previously stated that the client had an impressive package- fondly placing them in the 'Banana Club'.

Other Terms.

The Apartment- Each shift I worked as an escort or call-girl meant I would be working in a different apartment sometimes in a different city, I would be informed where I was working the day of my shift. From experience every agency has three or four really up-market flats, and if you looked past the fake tan marks and other questionable stains on the soft furnishings it really was a nice apartment to work from. However- there were also a fair amount of squat-like hovels which were quite the opposite working environment. The more popular you were with the managers and clients, the more often you frequented the fancy abodes.

Comm/Commission- Commission has to be paid at the end of a shift or if you were one of the 'trusted girls' you could pay commission weekly. Commission is the amount of money the managers deducted from the days takings, usually around 30% of each booking i.e. the booking costs £350 total the managers would take a whopping £115 of that for doing approximately fuck-all.

In and Paid- this is the contents of the text we would send to the driver/phone girl to inform them we had received the money and the client was in the apartment, this meant the booking had begun and the clock starts ticking.

Out- Similarly as above- this would indicate the client had left and from this point we had only 5 minutes until the next client would come knocking at the door. So in that time we had to; Dispose of condoms, change soiled sheets, remake the bed, shower, dress ourselves, make our hair and make-up not appear as though we'd been having sex for the past hour, pour beverages and of course mentally prepare ourselves for the next stranger who we are meant to know exactly how to please. Note to punters- unless the guy before you was a quick finisher- you're date for the evening probably didn't have time to shower. Sorry. Sometimes I was sneaky with the 'Out' text, I was quite good at my job after all- I could make a man leave quickly if I needed him to meaning I could have an extra 10/20 minutes added to my prep time. Often men who were regulars would know to leave early in order to give me some time to relax and maybe even fit in a meal.

UK Punting - This is a forum strictly for clients in order to rate and often shame escorts and other girls in the industry- this didn't stop us taking a peak at what they had to say though. We were often faced with an in depth description of our 'technique', criticisms of our body and usually all in a very brutal manner. Sort of like a sick trip-advisor. I heard stories from friends who are in the industry whereby a fake review has been posted by an ex-agency, things can get quite nasty if you choose to leave, meaning she will either have to relocate and get a better reputation or deal with the lack of clients after they read the posts online.

That's it for the first post, I hope you stick around for more!
